Cornbread Casserole With Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 (15 ounce) can cream-style corn
- 1 (8 1/2 ounce) box corn muffin mix
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup dry milk
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
- 2 in a medium skillet, saute onions in butter over medium-high heat until golden,about 10 minutes, set aside.
- 3 in a medium bowl, mix egg and water.
- 4 stir in corn.
- 5 stir in dry milk and muffin mix until blended.
- 6 stir in onions.
- 7 spread in mix into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
- 8 sprinkle with cheese.
- 9 bake for 25-30 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- 10 let stand 10 minutes and cut into squares.
