Banana Tea Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 f.
- 2 sift flour with baking powder, soda and salt.
- 3 keep aside.
- 4 cream shortening until light.
- 5 then, add sugar gradually continuing to cream until fluffy.
- 6 beat in eggs.
- 7 add flour mixture alternately with bananas beginning and ending with flour.
- 8 spoon into a well-greased loaf pan and bake about 1 hr 10 min until loaf pulls slightly from sides of pan and is springy to the touch.
- 9 cool upright in pan for 10 min then turn out on a wire rack and cool before slicing.
