Cider-glazed Brussels Sprouts With Bacon & Almonds

Ingredients

- 4 slices bacon
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 lbs brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 3/4 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Recipe
- 1 cook bacon in large skillet until crisp, remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels, discard all but 1 tbsp of the drippings from skillet.
- 2 add butter, onions, and brussel sprouts to drippings in skillet; cook and stir on medium-high heat 1 to 2 min or until brussel sprouts are lightly browned.
- 3 in a bowl mix next 5 ingredients and pour over sprouts.
- 4 cook 5-10 mins or until liquid has evaporated and sprouts are evenly glazed, stirring occasionally.
- 5 crumble the toasted bacon and stir inches.
- 6 pour sprouts into a bowl and top with the almonds; enjoy!
