Creamed Pearl Onions

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups pearl onions, drained
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • pepper
  • 1 dash nutmeg

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • 2 add flour and stir until well blended.
  • 3 add milk gradually.
  • 4 reduce heat to low and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture has thickened.
  • 5 drain onions and add to sauce.
  • 6 season with pepper and nutmeg.
  • 7 serve hot.
