Corn Bread

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 egg whites or 1 egg, beaten

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400°f.
  • 2 grease well 8 or 9" pan pan.
  • 3 combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt and mix well.
  • 4 stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and egg. mix just until the dough is moistened.
  • 5 pour the batter into the pan.
  • 6 bake 20-25 minutes, or until golden-brown.
