Dahl Soup

Total Time: 1 hr 17 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 2 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cups red lentils
  • 1 kombu seaweed, strip
  • 12 cups water
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • lemon slice, to garnish

Recipe

  • 1 saute onion, cinnamon& cumin in oil in a stockpot until the onion is translucent, about 2 minutes.
  • 2 stir in the lentils, kombu& water.
  • 3 bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover& simmer for 1 hour.
  • 4 season to taste& garnish with cilantro& lemon slices.
