Blue Cheese And Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in medium saucepan over medium-low heat until hot. cook onion about 20 minutes or until deep golden brown, stirring occasionally. cool.
  • 2 whisk mayonnaise and sour cream in medium bowl.
  • 3 add blue cheese. with spatula, mash until smooth.
  • 4 stir in onions, salt and pepper.
  • 5 cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours to blend flavors. serve chilled or at room temperature.
