Blue Cheese And Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese, room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Recipe
- 1 heat oil in medium saucepan over medium-low heat until hot. cook onion about 20 minutes or until deep golden brown, stirring occasionally. cool.
- 2 whisk mayonnaise and sour cream in medium bowl.
- 3 add blue cheese. with spatula, mash until smooth.
- 4 stir in onions, salt and pepper.
- 5 cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours to blend flavors. serve chilled or at room temperature.
