Charishma's Homemade Plain Kulchas

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon dry yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2-2 cups fresh low-fat milk, warm
- 2 tablespoons yoghurt
- salt
Recipe
- 1 in a bowl take some warm water.
- 2 sprinkle yeast and sugar over it.
- 3 keep aside for 5 minutes or till frothy.
- 4 take a large plate.
- 5 mix salt and flour in it.
- 6 make a well in the center.
- 7 add yoghurt in the well.
- 8 sprinkle baking soda over yoghurt.
- 9 allow to stand for 2-3 minutes.
- 10 pour oil and yeast solution in the well.
- 11 mix gradually.
- 12 use milk as required to make a soft- stiff dough.
- 13 brush dough with oil.
- 14 cover with an inverted bowl.
- 15 keep aside for 4 hours or longer if the weather is cold.
- 16 grease palms well and punch dough till soft and elastic.
- 17 cover again.
- 18 keep aside for 10 minutes.
- 19 break off a lump of dough.
- 20 roll or pat into a thick round (about 6" in diameter).
- 21 rost on a hot griddle till golden spots appear or shallow fry on griddle.
- 22 serve hot with gravied vegetables, indian dals, etc.
