Cornbread

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar, if you like sweet corn bread (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2 combine corn meal, flour and salt in bowl. mix well.
- 3 combine egg, milk, and oil in small bowl. mix well.
- 4 add milk mixture into flour and corn meal mixture until just blended. pour into 11" inch cast iron skillet.
- 5 bake 20 to 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
