Country Style Steak

Ingredients

- 4 pieces cube steaks
- flour
- vegetable oil
- 1 envelope lipton beefy mushroom soup mix
- water
Recipe
- 1 heat about 1/4 vegetable oil in frying pan on medium high setting.
- 2 moisten steaks with enough water so that flour will stick.
- 3 you can use milk if you prefer.
- 4 dredge steaks in flour until well coated.
- 5 making sure oil is hot, place steaks in pan.
- 6 fry steaks in oil until flour is crisp and steaks are slightly browned, a minute or two on each side.
- 7 when steaks are lightly browned, sprinkle package of dry soup mix over steaks and carefully add enough water to just cover steaks.
- 8 reduce heat, cover and simmer steaks 20-30 minutes.
- 9 remove steaks from pan and set aside.
- 10 scraping all the good bits off the bottom of frying pan and stirring should give you a great gravy for the steaks.
- 11 if you need to, you may add a bit more flour to thicken.
- 12 serve steaks and gravy over rice.
