Chocolate Heath Bar Muffins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 heath candy bars, crushed (or 1 package toffee bits)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400*f.
  • 2 grease the bottoms only of 12 standard-size muffin cups, or line with paper liners.
  • 3 in a large bowl, beat together the milk, oil and egg.
  • 4 whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; add to milk mixture just until combined.
  • 5 do not overmix.
  • 6 gently fold in the heath bars.
  • 7 spoon batter into the prepared muffin tins--the cups will be full; bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick tests out clean.
  • 8 immediately remove muffins from the tins; serve warm, or cool completely.
  • 9 ***insteadof heath bars, try chopped snickers bars, milky ways, peppermint patties, milk duds, whoppers, etc.
